It's legitimate news to cover a think tank when it writes a report on a topic you're covering, especially when it becomes a major factor in the policy decision. This was the case with NPRI and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. But NPRI is increasingly the go-to source for all RJ reporters on a variety of topics. The evolution has occurred practically overnight, and dare we say the evolution has matched the veering to the right by Publisher Sherm Frederick almost lock step. In 2008: NPRI got 21 news hits in the Review-Journal and a total of 12 from all other news outlets combined. In 2007: NPRI got 7 news hits in the RJ and a total of 9 from all other news outlets combined.
