We'll start with the publisher today, because frankly, that's where most of the anti-Reid fervor begins. http://www.lvrj.com/blogs/sherm/Could_Harry_be_any_more_out_of_touch_eh.html?ref=849 The headline in this rant should actually read Could Sherm be any more out of touch? Also today, Steve Tetreault has a look at the politics of the jobs bill, er the 60 votes to pass the jobs bill. http://www.lvrj.com/news/reid-still-lacks-key-vote-to-replenish-jobless-benefits-98289154.html We're glad he's keeping tabs on this critical Nevada story. Oh, and we're glad we spelled his name right today. In the July 1st blog entry, I erroneously dropped the second e in his last name when reporting on one of Tetreault's reporting errors. Not only that, I spelled the name wrong twice in the same blog. The July 1 blog has been corrected. Also in the RJ today, Danny Tarkanian re-emerges from his election defeat to push something for Gov. Jim Gibbons. So, Tarkanian emerges and he's not explicitly working for Sharron Angle. You'd think that would be something the RJ would report. Also missing from the RJ is the not-so-little political story from Washoe County. Now we know the RJ is based in Las Vegas, but the senate race is statewide. Here's a story you won't find in the Review-Journal -- Reno Mayor Bob Cashell and Sparks Mayor Geno Martini, both Republicans, have endorsed Sen. Harry Reid. It's apparently more newsworthy to print right-wing tax studies that say Nevada doesn't need any more taxes. http://www.lvrj.com/news/tax-boost-a-drag-to-economy--study-says-98302229.html Best part of this story is that the dude from Tax Foundation is actually called Henchman.
