The RJ declares today that Republicans love Sharron Angle!

At least that's the story the RJ chooses to run. No mention of the Rasmussen poll released Tuesday showing Angle losing ground in the race. No mention of the 100-plus Republicans for Reid or the newly-added northern mayors Bob Cashell of Reno and Geno Martini of Sparks, who have formally endorsed Reid despite being Republicans.

Instead, Laura Myers chooses the old "money talks" adage and says that Republican leaders (SHOCK) are "maxing out" to Angle.

Now $5,000 is a lot of cash, but not to Mitch McConnell.

It seems even though Myers has learned to only give us political stories, she still misses the larger political story today.

Yes, it's true that Republican leaders have given Angle money. But it's also true there are lots of Republicans in Nevada who won't.

And, yes it's now true -- at least in a reliably Republican poll -- that the race can be considered a dead heat.

But you won't read about Republicans for Reid in the RJ. And you won't read that the race is a dead heat in the RJ -- at least maybe not until the paper's own pollster gets there -- if he ever does.

As a political story -- even one just about money --  it's sorely lacking.

Jon Ralston has two different political takes in this race today in the Las Vegas Sun. One is an ad check.

The other one of his occasional columns suggesting Harry Reid could be alive.

We wonder if the RJ will deem it important to cover Angle's remarks to the Christian Broadcast Network in which he mentions that God told her to run against Harry Reid.

Now if only Bright Eyes would record a "When Sharron Angle talks to God."
